toolatelurker asked:My only holiday tradition is complaining about having to go shopping. You know, out there. Where there are people. It's awful. Oh! Though we do have a tradition of not putting up the tree until quite late - my father was a headteacher, so we always used to wait until the end of term before we'd put a tree up at home, and even though he's retired now, he still doesn't put it up until around the 21st. It was kind of like we ignored Christmas until it ambushed us at the last minute.
I am right there with you. I have been in the habit of putting things off the last few years, either due to being overworked or unemployed - both make the holidays difficult in different ways.
One of the things I’ve come to realize, though, is everybody wants the same thing - to have a good time with each other. BEST. PRESENT. EVER.
Good luck shopping tomorrow. :)
