Fact: I find the moon very comforting.

My first night in the hospital, I noticed that I couldn’t see it from my room. That meant I wasn’t going to see it at all the entire time I was there. It was the first time that I allowed myself to think about being in a locked ward. How long was I going to be there? Would I get to go outside at all? The worst fear was the most irrational one - what if they never let me leave?

When I see the moon, it reminds me that I am free.

Anyway, at 10:30 the other night I go out into my yard and there’s the Werzner kid looking up in the tree. I said, “What are you looking for?” He said, “I’m looking for my burrow owl.” I said, “Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick! Everybody knows that a burrow owl lives in a hole in the ground! Why the hell do you think they call it a burrow owl, anyway?!”
